Prysmian Australia pioneers the new age of digital electricity in Australia.
In August 2020, Prysmian embarked on a new age of digital electricity in supplying the first full Voltserver System in Australia. The Voltserver System offers a whole new form of digital electricity distribution as it enables the deployment of multiuse technology across extensive distances with not only a reliable high power output but also a product that is safe to human touch. This effectively allows the cable that delivers the equipment’s power to be installed within the telecommunications duct, or even included in the telecommunication cable. This new technology offers remote digital power connection for an array of multiuse technologies such as LED Lighting, security cameras and wireless access points.
The Voltserver System was supplied to Curtin University to power the lighting and ICT systems at their recently completed Yarning Circle. The system offers an innovative solution while under trial at the Perth Campus with potential to improve sustainability, reduce costs overall and create safer electricity across the campus.
“Since I first enquired about the Voltserver technology, Prysmian have provided continuous support and advice to the Curtin project team confirming the solution aligns with the needs and expectations of the project" says Kye Topping Infrastructure Manager at Curtin University "I would like to thank Prysmian for their continued efforts in ensuring this trial was a success and I look forward to continued engagement on future opportunities to leverage this innovative technology solution.”
The harmonious partnership with Pacific Data Com Perth, Curtin University, Shamrock Electrics, ESC Engineering and Prysmian offers a great example of Prysmian as a valuable stakeholder in the digital electricity market.
